VingCard invented the recodable mechanical lock in 1979, solving one of the hotel industry’s major security problems, that of guest and staff key control. In 1997, the company introduced the VingCard PERSONA™ lock and lock system designed specifically for educational institutions and also joined forces with ELSAFE, the leading manufacturer of personal safes.

 

VingCard PERSONA 6000 Model is an intelligent locking system, battery-powered, simply installed, easy-to-manage, and fully upgradeable keycards, infinitely customized to fit the unique needs of your user population. No expensive networking or wiring is required. And the system's user-friendly software runs on any PC, simpllifying management of your security locking system.

The PERSONA electronic locks were the first offline electronic locks introduced specifically for educational facilities. They include a magnetic stripe card reader that requires a properly encoded magnetic stripe keycard, and a keypad to enter a corresponding 4-digit PIN code.

The locks are all metal for durability, which means there are no external plastic parts to be tampered with. The lock software is versatile enough to accommodate the many configurations of residence halls, faculty offices, and common areas.
