Deadbolt Status Indicator Kits

A Simple Upgrade That Improves Safety and Visibility

A Practical Upgrade for Better Door Awareness

At Dugmore & Duncan, we’re always looking for simple, effective ways to improve safety at the door level—especially solutions that are easy to use and integrate seamlessly into existing setups.

ASSA ABLOY has introduced a new line of deadbolt status indicator retrofit kits across three of its core brands:

  • ASSA ABLOY ACCENTRA®

  • Corbin Russwin

  • SARGENT

These kits add a clear visual indicator to the exterior side of a deadbolt, showing whether the door is locked or unlocked—something that’s often overlooked but critically important in real-world applications.

All three product lines will be available to order starting May 15, 2026.

Why This Matters (From the Field)

We see this issue all the time in schools, healthcare facilities, and multi-building campuses:

  • Staff aren’t sure if a door is secured

  • Lock status requires physically testing the door

  • Security checks take longer than they should

  • There’s no quick visual confirmation during an emergency

This retrofit solves that with instant, at-a-glance verification—no guesswork.

Designed to Work with What You Already Have

One of the biggest advantages here is that these kits are true retrofits. You don’t need to replace your existing hardware.

They’re designed to work with:

  • ACCENTRA® D Series deadbolts

  • Corbin Russwin DL2200 & DL3200 Series

  • SARGENT 460 & 480 Series

They also support:

  • Fixed core cylinders

  • LFIC (large format interchangeable core)

  • SFIC (small format interchangeable core)

That means in many cases, this is a quick upgrade—not a full project.

Key Features That Make a Difference

  • Exterior (keyed side) lock status indication

  • Green/Red or White/Red visual options

  • English or French labeling

  • Patent-pending design

  • 1-year warranty

Fire-Rated Openings? Covered.

These kits are UL/cUL Classified for use on 3-hour fire-rated doors when paired with the appropriate deadbolt series.
