ASSA ABLOY Introduces SHH Acoustic Exit Device Option Across SARGENT and Corbin Russwin

Designed to reduce operational noise while maintaining Grade 1 performance.

ASSA ABLOY is bringing a new focus on acoustic performance to commercial exit devices with its SHH option, now available across SARGENT and Corbin Russwin product lines.

The SHH option is offered for the SARGENT PE80 Series and Corbin Russwin PED4000 and PED5000 Series exit devices. The solution is designed to reduce operational noise at the door opening while maintaining the durability, reliability and Grade 1 performance expected from these exit devices.

What makes the introduction notable is that SHH is certified to BHMA's Acoustic Hardware Standard and engineered to exceed the standard's minimum performance requirements. This gives architects, specifiers and facility managers a recognized way to consider acoustic performance when selecting exit hardware—not simply relying on subjective claims that a device is "quieter.”

The development is particularly relevant to environments where background noise matters, including healthcare, education, commercial and institutional facilities. In these settings, frequently operated doors can contribute to the overall acoustic environment, making the performance of door hardware an increasingly relevant design consideration.

By extending SHH across established SARGENT and Corbin Russwin exit-device platforms, ASSA ABLOY is positioning acoustic performance as another consideration alongside the security, durability and life-safety requirements traditionally associated with exit hardware.
